The Original Singing Horse Trading Post is based on Pine Ridge Reservation.
Pine Ridge Reservation is located in the southwestern corner of South Dakota, within the counties of Bennett, Shannon and Jackson.

According to Wikipedia Pine Ridge Reservation covers an area of approximately 3,500 square miles and has a population of approximately 29,000.
