This beautiful necklace is crafted with a fine chain necklace and centered with a uniquely and intricately quilled silver bar. The quillwork is approximately 4 inches in length.
Quillwork is one of the many traditional art forms of the Lakota people. There is a lot of time and work that goes into quillwork. The quills are removed from a porcupine, then are cleaned, dyed, soaked until pliable and woven or sewn into designs unique to every family or tribe. Quillwork is not water resilient and should be well taken care of.
